Kiran Kanojia career , history , biography
"India's blade-runner" and para-athlete Kiran Kanojia was born on December 25, 1986 in India.
Life and learning
Kanojia came from a low-income family in Faridabad. She did well in school and soon after began working as a test engineer at Infosys in Hyderabad. She was shoved off a train while returning from her parents' 25th birthday celebration by criminals trying to steal her purse. Her left leg was crushed and had to be amputated as a result.
She went back to Hyderabad six months after the incident and enrolled in the Dakshin Rehabilitation Centre (DRC) to reclaim control of her life. She tried on a prosthetic leg over here. Kanojia entered the Hyderabad Airtel Marathon in 2014 and took home her maiden medal.[Reference needed]
Career
She soon finished a half-marathon and then six. Her best time as of March 2019 was 2 hours 44 minutes at the 2015 Mumbai Marathon. Champion blade runner Kanojia is invited to run and start marathons in Delhi and Mumbai.

Won a medal at the Hyderabad Airtel Marathon Winner of the 2017 NITI Aayog and United Nations Women Transforming India Award
one of the 12 "sporting superheroes" chosen by Mission Smile to appear in a 2017 calendar.
