India's Kanpur has a cricket stadium that meets international standards. It can accommodate 32,000 people in its chairs. The cricket squad from Uttar Pradesh calls it home.

An international test match takes place in this arena. The Uttar Pradesh Sports Department is in charge of Green Park. Both Test and ODI cricket matches played internationally have taken place there. The Indian team played its 500th test at the stadium. Additionally, it planned four Vivo IPL matchups on May 19 and 21, 2016 and May 10, and 13, 2017, respectively.

It has held 22 Tests, 14 ODIs, and 1 T20I as of August 19, 2017. It is located close to the Ganga River.

The stadium was given its name in honor of a British woman named Green who enjoyed horseback riding there. It also goes by the nicknames "Billiards Table" and "Woolmer's turf" in honor of the late cricket coach and player Bob Woolmer, who was born across the street at McRobert Hospital.

The woman called Green who used to practice horseback riding here in the 1940s is honored with the name Green Park Stadium. It is situated close to the banks of the Ganga River, which flows directly behind the stadium, in the Civil Lines neighborhood in the city of Kanpur's northeast.

There is only one stadium in India with a student gallery. The world's largest manually controlled scoreboard is located in Green Park. Additionally, it features video displays that are utilized for international competitions.

At the Green Park field, India defeated Australia in the maiden Test match in December 1959. A turf wicket was used for the first time in this game.

India has only lost twice at Kanpur since 1957, both times to the West Indies in 1958 and 1983.
