Curling sports History , History of curling , About of curling

In the game of curling, participants slide stones along an ice sheet toward a target area divided into four concentric rings. It is comparable to shuffleboard, boules, and bowling. Two teams of four players each slide large, polished granite rocks over the curling sheet of ice in the direction of the home, a defined circle on the ice. Each player throws two of the eight stones that each team has. The object of the game is to score the highest possible total; points are awarded for the stones that, at the end of each end, are closest to the center of the house after both teams have thrown all of their stones once. Typically, a game has eight or ten ends.
