Indian mountaineer and athlete Arunima Sinha. She is the first amputee woman in history to climb Mount Everest in Asia, Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Mount Elbrus in Europe, Mount Kosciusko in Australia, Mount Aconcagua in South America, Mount Denali in North America, and Mount Vinson in Antarctica. She has also played volleyball for India seven times.She suffered several spinal chord fractures and rods being shoved into her left leg[5] after being forced from a moving train by robbers in 2011.Her goal was to ascend each of the highest peaks on the continent and raise the Indian flag. In the years leading up to 2014, she had previously conquered seven peaks: Everest in Asia, Kilimanjaro in Africa, Elbrus in Europe, Kosciuszko in Australia, Aconcagua in South America, and Denali in North America. On January 1, 2019, she reached the top of Mount Vinson in Antarctica for the last time.

Gandhi received the fourth-highest civilian award in India, the Padma Shri, from the Indian government in 2015.

In Ambedkar Nagar, an area of Uttar Pradesh close to Lucknow, Arunima Sinha was born. Her mother worked as a health department administrator, while her father served in the Indian Army. She has a younger brother and an older sister. Her mother made an effort to care for her family when her father passed away.

Arunima played volleyball at the national level and enjoyed watching football. She desired enlistment in the paramilitary groups. While flying to Delhi after receiving a call letter from the CISF, she experienced her life-altering accident. She was thrown from the moving train and had her bag stolen by robbers. She was severely injured when she fell on the track and was unable to move. She was struck below the knee by a train that was approaching from the opposite side. She was then taken to the hospital by the locals.
